Egg yolk paint for Sugar Cookies
(You paint this on before you bake the cookies.)
1 egg yolk
¼ teaspoon of water
food coloring(to be added after you divide up the mixture)
Blend egg yolk and water together. Divide mixture among several glass custard cups. Add several drops of food coloring to each cup. Using new, clean small watercolor paintbrushes, paint designs on your sugar cookies. Use your imaginations. Have fun! Bake the cookies according to their recipe directions. If the paint thickens while you are using it, add a drop or so of water. Note: you are using egg yolks. If you take a break from cookie making, put the colored egg mixture and the cookie batter in the refrigerator until you are ready to use them again. Don’t forget to wash the paint brushes.
